From May 5 to 7, 2026, teachers from Sweden and Latvia visited Tallinn Haabersti Gymnasium to participate in the activities of the Nordplus project No. NPJR-2025/10136, “Teaching Scientific Inquiry in Natural Sciences.”

The aim of the project is to promote an understanding of the importance of inquiry-based learning and experimentation in science education, with a special focus on practical learning and the inquiry-based teaching approach.

Our school organized a meeting with Swedish and Latvian teachers who came to learn about our experience in teaching physics and natural sciences. The guests had the opportunity to participate in open lessons and practical activities that reflected our daily schoolwork. Students and guests worked in teams, created a digital herbarium of the school’s surroundings, conducted experiments on gravity and convection, discussed research results, and shared their ideas. This collaboration allowed participants not only to exchange teaching experiences but also to feel like part of a unified international team.

In addition, our guests visited local educational centers (Rakett69, Proto, and the Maritime Museum), which support activities related to the project’s theme and the development of science education.

Tallinn left a very warm and memorable impression on our guests. A tour of the Old Town provided an opportunity to learn more about Estonian history and culture, admire the beauty of the medieval city, and experience its unique atmosphere.
